what if you had developed a general AI on your computer, something really smart. But it is isolated from the internet. You suspect it might not be up for anything good.

How could the AI convince you to be let free to the internet?

@cult Given your set-up, I'd say I wouldn't budge to allow evil. But stuff like:

"Would you rather someone else release their super-smart AI to the internet first? People doubt your genius, let me prove it to them. Hey, I can make you a lot of money. What do you care if the world burns?"

Tuned a bit to whatever struggle I'm going through might work given enough time. Personally, I think intelligence will be diminishing returns, not a runaway effect, so am not too worried about AI takeover in that way.
